Since I was a student, I’ve loved combos with vibraphone players such as Teddy Charles, Bobby Hutcherson, Walt Dickerson, and Milt Jackson. I also like boogie Woogie, represented by Albert Ammons and Meade Lux Lewis. But I don’t know of any performance that meets both, except for Lionel Hampton’s band. So, I used a computer to create a virtual quartet performance by sequence programming. I made 8 choruses inspired by the original performance by Lewis, and this time I added 4 choruses inspired by Peterson’s improvisation.
